S.T.E.A.M. Adventure: Grades 1–3
Week 5: July 13 – July 17 | 9 AM – 2 PM
Industrial Revolution: The Stalled Engine
The Crisis: The Great Engine of progress has seized! Without the mastery of steam and mechanical energy, the modern world will never begin.
The Fix:
Science: Experiment with thermodynamics to see how heat creates pressure and motion. Study mechanical advantage by building complex gear trains and pulley systems to lift heavy loads with minimal effort.
Art: Dive into "Mechanical Art" and Steampunk design, using metallic textures and blueprint aesthetics. Explore printmaking—the original mass-production art form—to create repetitive industrial patterns.
Math & Literacy: Calculate gear ratios to predict speed and power. Document the "New Era" by writing newspaper headlines and technical manuals for newly restored inventions.
Mission Goal: Master the laws of energy and mechanics to get the gears of history turning again!
