Embark on a captivating journey through Africa at our African Expedition Summer Camp, tailored for inquisitive minds in grades 5-6! From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, your young adventurers will delve into the diverse cultures, iconic landmarks, and remarkable achievements of Africa through a range of engaging activities and themed days. Each week, we'll integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into our daily themes to create an enriching and well-rounded experience.
Daily Themes:
Exploring African Ecosystems and Landscapes (Science & Engineering): Discover the unique ecosystems and landscapes of Africa, analyze their distinct characteristics, and participate in engineering challenges focused on environmental preservation and sustainability.
Investigating African Inventions and Innovations (Technology & Engineering): Uncover groundbreaking African inventions and innovations, engage in hands-on experiments, and develop coding projects inspired by these advancements.
Celebrating African Cultures and Traditions (Art & Culture): Immerse yourself in the world of African art, music, and customs, and create culturally inspired projects that deepen your understanding of various African countries and their histories.
African Geography and Landmarks (Geography & Math): Analyze the geography of Africa, study famous landmarks and cultural sites, and participate in data analysis activities using real-world geographical data.
Sustainability and Conservation in Africa (Engineering & Math): Learn about cutting-edge sustainability initiatives in Africa, contribute to eco-friendly projects, and analyze data from real African research initiatives to understand the importance of conservation efforts.
Activities Include:
