Embark on a thrilling and icy adventure to the southernmost continent at our Antarctic Adventures Summer Camp, tailored for curious minds in grades 3-4! From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, your young explorers will uncover the unique wildlife, landscapes, and scientific research of Antarctica through a variety of engaging activities and themed days. Each week, we'll incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into our daily themes to promote a well-rounded learning experience.
Daily Themes:
Amazing Antarctic Wildlife (Science & Art): Investigate the fascinating creatures of Antarctica through interactive wildlife identification games and create scientific illustrations of native species.
Antarctic Research Station Exploration (Engineering & Technology): Discover the inner workings of research stations and design your own Antarctic research facility, while exploring the technology used in extreme weather conditions.
Exploring Ice Formations and Glaciers (Science & Math): Uncover the wonders of Antarctic ice formations through collaborative scavenger hunts and glacier experiments, while practicing data analysis and graphing skills.
Sailing the Southern Ocean (Engineering & Math): Dive into the world of the Southern Ocean and engage in creative writing exercises, while designing and testing model ships to learn about navigation and ocean currents.
Climate Change and Conservation Festival (Art & Technology): Experience the importance of Antarctic research through climate change art projects and explore the real-world applications of technology in studying the region's changing climate.
Activities Include:
Wildlife research projects and habitat diorama creation
Antarctic research station design, along with engineering challenges inspired by extreme weather
Glacier experiments and creative writing inspired by the Southern Ocean
Ship navigation activities and climate change art projects
Exploring technology used in Antarctic research and data analysis practice with real Antarctic research data
