Is Your Child Already Stressed? Why the First Weeks of School Are the Best Time to Switch.

The new school year just started across Vacaville, and for a lot of families, the honeymoon phase is already over.

Maybe you spent this past week watching your child come home completely drained. Maybe the homework battles have already started. Or maybe you looked at their curriculum and realized it’s the same old routine: sitting at a desk, staring at screens, and filling out worksheets in a crowded classroom.

If your child is already bored, stressed, or disengaged in August, hoping it gets better by October isn't a strategy.

At The Academy of 21st Century Learning, we built our K-8 private school model to be the exact opposite of that traditional grind. We are strictly in-person, and we’ve operated that way for the last decade because kids need physical environments, movement, and real-world friction to actually learn.

Here is what happens inside our K-8 classrooms instead of worksheets:

  • Kindergarten is Hands-On: We don't expect five-year-olds to sit still and stare at tablets. From day one, our kindergarteners are actively moving, building, and exploring foundational STEAM concepts with their own hands.

  • Early Entrepreneurship: By the time our students hit 3rd grade, they aren't just taking standardized tests. They are actively designing, building, and pitching actual businesses.

  • Engaging Middle School Mentorship: Middle school shouldn't be about surviving awkward years and heavy textbooks. Our middle schoolers are highly engaged through direct mentorship, working on advanced, real-world projects that connect what they learn to life outside the classroom.

The "Late Enrollment" Window is Open A lot of parents think that once the school year starts, they are locked in until next fall. You aren't. Right now is actually the most common time for parents to pivot, before bad habits set in and grades slip.

Due to a few recent relocations, we have a few of seats left for this year across our K-8 cohorts.

Try It Risk-Free We don’t want you to guess if this is the right fit. We want your child to experience it.

We are offering a Try Me Out Day for prospective students. Drop them off, and let them experience our campus.

Don't wait for the first bad report card.
